“Red, I think?”

Price at Purchase: $7.19
Location: Safeway
As you know, we have a very thorough and patent-pending wine tasting process to determine these reviews. (Just kidding, we pretty much take a sip and the critiques just start flowing. We’re just that talented).
This time around, though, we were thrown a curveball when we were explaining our process to someone. When we got to the “color section” of our EXCLUSIVE reviewing system, my sister and I were clearly able to spot the vibrant ruby red color.
But when we turned to our newcomer, he admitted, “these colors are a bit hard to distinguish”…
And that’s how we found out he’s partially color blind.
Visual impairment aside, bottle is not very “cabby” at all. Instead, it’s on the thin side, and very very light. So it’s perfect for your “I just had a couple of cocktails on the beach, and now I’m ready for my wine with dinner”. True story. The blueberry flavor mixes pretty well with plum and cherry—so while it’s thin, it’s still has a lot of taste and is very drinkable. But that doesn’t mean it’s super versatile. While I’d recommend serving it up chilled during appetizers, maybe hold off on pouring this bad boy during your entrée. Salad? Yes. Steak or burger? GTFO.
I highly recommend serving this bottle on those days when you just can’t make up your mind on what to drink. You know, those “it’s too hot outside for a heavy red, but I don’t feel like drinking white wine” sort of days. Or to people who are color-blind, because you know they won’t be able to tell the difference.
