“Fruit Fo Sho”

Price at Purchase: $8.99

Location: Safeway

This is a very stoic bottle—distinguished both with the label and the wine itself. But don’t get too excited, since we both like the way this one smelled more than how it tasted. To give it credit, it is a beautiful wine when poured, and it had enough tannins to make my sister yell out, “Look at the legs on this one!” So even though it’s only two years old, that’s like 40 in wine years, right? Looks like someone does Pilates!

This is a wine where I completely disagree with the label description, so use your own judgement in how much you trust me (and my shitty palate). Beringer claims that this has “black cherry and raspberry” ; I got an overwhelming dominance of blueberry, instead. But to me, this blueberry-ness made it much more exciting to drink, since it was very different from the more plum- and blackberry-forward wines I’m used to.

The label also describes it as having vanilla and cinnamon spice. Nope—to me, this wine is extremely fruit forward, and it reminded me of a liquid fruit salad. But a fruit salad with just the exciting pieces—no cantaloupe or honey dew in here!

HOWEVER, the label mentions strong tannins, so we got something right! See? Legs. For. Days.
